The Book of Faith-01a

The Reciter: And Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Umar ibn Ali ibn Muqaddam informed us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, who said: Iyas ibn Mu'awiyyah asked me, saying: "I see that you have been burdened with the knowledge of the Qur'an, so recite a surah for me and interpret it, so that I may see what you have learned." He said: So I did, and he said to me: "Remember what I am telling you: "Beware of being arrogant in hadith, for rarely does one carry it except that he becomes humiliated in himself and lies in his hadith".
