Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Muhammad ibn Rafi' narrated to me, he said: 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar informed us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him), he said:
Indeed, in the sea there are jinn that are imprisoned, whom Sulayman bound. They are about to come out and recite the Qur'an to the people. إنّ في البحر شياطين مسجونةً ، أوثقها سليمان ، يوشك أن تخرج ، فتقرأ على النّاس قرآنًا
.

The Shaykh : This hadith is from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he is one of those known for taking reports from the Children of Israel. He took two loads of news from the Children of Israel. Such a report is neither affirmed nor denied, and it is not ruled to be rejected, because it came from one who is known for taking reports from the Children of Israel. As for the hadith before it, it contains a warning about the jinn, that they may take the form of a human and tell people things that have no basis. But what is the way by which a person can guard himself from the jinn in such a case?
We say the way is for a person to increase in the invocations transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for the protection of a person, such as the Verse of the Throne, for whoever recites it in the night, a protector from Allah will not cease to be over him, and no Shaytan will approach him until he becomes morning, and other things established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding guarding against the jinn. Yes.
