The Shaykh :"Third Note. Know, O dear reader, that I have written to some students a text containing what I said in some gatherings regarding the presence of Allah with His creation. I mentioned therein: Our belief is that Allah the Exalted has a real, essential presence befitting Him, which entails His encompassing everything with knowledge, power, hearing, sight, authority, and management. And He is Exalted, free from being mixed with creation or residing in their places. Rather, He is the Most High by His essence and His attributes, and His being above is among His essential attributes from which He is never separated. And He is established above His Throne as befits His Majesty, and that does not contradict His presence, for Allah the Exalted says:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing. ليس كمثله شيء وهو السميع البصير
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
And by my saying: 'essential,' I intended to affirm the reality of His presence, Blessed and Exalted is He, because Allah attributed it to whom? To Himself. And if He attributed it to Himself, then it is from His attributes. Everything attributed to Himself, the intended meaning is Himself, the Exalted, not other than Him.
And I did not intend that He is with His creation on earth, how could I, when I said in this very text, as you see: He is Exalted, free from being mixed with creation or residing in their places, and that He is the Most High by His essence and His attributes, and that His being above is among His essential attributes from which He is never separated. And I also said therein, word for word: 'We see that whoever claims that Allah is by His essence in every place is a disbeliever or misguided if he believes it, and a liar if he attributes it to others from the Salaf of the Ummah or its imams.'
End.
The time for questions has come. Now, yes.
