What is the defense for the people of ta'til (denial of the divine attributes) delving into matters in which the Companions and the earliest generations did not delve?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: May Allah forgive you, O Shaykh. In the era of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), they did not enter into these matters, O Shaykh. How can we enter into them, given the shortness of our minds, the shortness of our understanding, and the shortness of our knowledge, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.
The student: And what is within our capacity?

The Shaykh : What can we do?
The student: The scholars of the people of the Sunnah, their arena is this arena. It is obligatory for them to defend the Sunnah to the best of their ability.

The Shaykh : Correct.
The student: But what about the others, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : It does not concern you, O men.
The student: The method that allows them to enter through this entrance.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: They are not following the Sunnah, nor are they following scholarly consensus.

The Shaykh : May Allah protect you, they follow their imams. They believe that these imams are more knowledgeable than others.
The student: The Companions are more knowledgeable than them. Do they know that the Companions are more knowledgeable than them...?

The Shaykh : Look, may Allah bless you, this taqlid (following a scholar without knowing his evidence) is a problem now. You find many books of the muqallidun (those who follow without evidence) where you read several pages and do not find a single piece of evidence, neither from the Qur'an nor from the Sunnah, except that so-and-so said this and so-and-so said that. The problem with the muqallidun is that they do not think like the people of hadith. Whenever the people of hadith bring up an issue, they mention a hadith or a verse, not that so-and-so said this and so-and-so said that.
The student: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, says:
And what the Messenger has given you, take it وما آتاكم الرسول فخذوه
.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student:
and from what He has forbidden you, refrain وما نهاكم عنه فانتهوا
Did the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) come with this statement?

The Shaykh : But scholars mentioned to them that they are distinguished and that they are more knowledgeable than others, so they follow them. Yes.
