Is the term "body" applied to Allah?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We now begin with the word "body." We said that the term itself is not affirmed nor denied. As for its meaning, we ask: what do you mean by "body"? If by "body" you mean the One who stands independent, possessing attributes befitting Him, the One who is High above His Throne, the One who will come on the Day of Judgment to judge between His creation, then if this is what you mean, it is true. All of this is established for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But if by "body" you mean a composite of parts and organs, where some parts depend on others for existence, and which depends on food and drink and the like to sustain it, then this is false. This is false; it is not permissible to attribute it to Allah. Likewise, if you mean a body similar to other bodies, that is also false, and Allah is exalted above it.
