The questioner : The listener also asks: Is it permissible to say "Truthful is Allah, the Mighty" regarding the sayings of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), because it is a revelation that is revealed?

The Shaykh : It is better to say "Truthful is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," because the speech in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke is not the speech of Allah, even if it is a revealed revelation. As is known from tracking and induction, the Sunnah contains revelation and contains ijtihad (independent legal reasoning). Some of it is a revelation revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and some of it is ijtihad in which he exerts effort, after which the Qur'an descends to confirm it or clarify the correct view. Furthermore, concluding the speech of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or concluding the speech of Allah the Exalted with the phrase "Truthful is Allah, the Mighty" is among the matters that have been innovated, which were not known in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the time of the righteous predecessors. Yes. If a matter occurs that confirms what Allah and His Messenger informed about, then at that time you say "Truthful is Allah," such as when you see your attachment to your children, or when something befalls you from them of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) regarding the religion of Allah, distracting you from it and preventing you, then you say "Truthful is Allah, the Mighty"
your properties and your children are but a trial إنما أموالكم وأولادكم فتنة
[Al-Anfal 8:28]
or something similar that descends as a confirmation of the speech of Allah, then you say "Truthful is Allah." Likewise, if something occurs that confirms the speech of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), you say "Truthful is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), it was so and so." As for saying "Truthful is the Messenger" or "Truthful is Allah" every time you conclude the speech of Allah or the speech of His Messenger, this is not from the Sunnah, but rather it is among the matters that have been innovated. Yes.
