Discussion of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((And Allah is truthful))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some ignorant people have cited this verse as evidence for the permissibility of concluding the recitation of the Qur'an by saying "Truthful is Allah." They ask: How do you deny us when we complete the recitation and say "Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent," when Allah says "And Allah and His Messenger are truthful" and says "Say: Truthful is Allah"? What is the answer to this doubt?
The student: The answer is that it was not said "Say: Truthful is Allah" at the end of the recitation...

The Shaykh : Yes, we do not deny that one may say "Truthful is Allah and His Messenger." In fact, we consider it part of faith for a person to say "Truthful is Allah and His Messenger," and whoever does not hold this belief is a disbeliever. However, we deny making this praise of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) a fixed practice at the end of the recitation, as there is no evidence for it. Are we more knowledgeable about the Shari'ah of Allah than the Messenger of Allah? Are we more eager to apply the Shari'ah of Allah than he was? Absolutely not. If that is not the case, then it is obligatory for us to follow his example. If he said "Truthful is Allah" at the end of his recitation, we would say it with utmost respect. But if he did not say it, we do not say it. We tell them: If you believe that doing so is prescribed, then say it also in prayer. When you finish the recitation in prayer, before you say the takbir, say "Truthful is Allah," because recitation in prayer is better than recitation outside of prayer. The point is that these people have no evidence for their position in a verse like this.
