Explanation of the author's statement: "And the way they resemble them is in several respects

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The way of resemblance is in several respects:
First: "that each of the two groups" And who are the two groups intended? The deniers and the hypocrites. The deniers are those who denied what Allah informed about Himself and what His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) informed about Him, and the hypocrites in the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Each of them claims to believe in what was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), even though they do not accept everything that came from him. And this is a clear aspect? A clear aspect. These deniers say, "We believe in Allah, we believe in the Book of Allah, we believe in the Messenger of Allah, and we believe in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah." And yet, when something comes to them from the verses of the attributes, do they accept it or not? They do not accept it. It says: "He rose above the Throne." They say, "He did not rise above the Throne. How did He rise above the Throne? Is Allah a body? Like a human who goes and sits on a chair? This is forbidden. It is forbidden for you. You are a person who ascribes a body to Allah, you are a disbeliever. Yes. This is what they say. They say openly: Any person who affirms that Allah truly rose above the Throne, they say, "You are a person who ascribes a body to Allah and you are a disbeliever, because you believed that Allah is a body." Is this accepting what came in the Qur'an? No, by Allah, they do not accept it.
Allah (Mighty and Majestic) attributed the rising above the Throne to His sacred Self.
The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. الرحمن على العرش استوى
[Taha 20:5]
How do you say He did not rise?
They said:
to that which I created with My hands لما خلقت بيدي
[Sad 38:75]
They said: "We do not accept that Allah has two hands. I seek refuge in Allah. Does Allah have two hands? This is forbidden, ascribing a body to Allah, disbelief and misguidance."
They said, "And what do you say about the two hands?" They said: "I say the two hands are the two powers. Yes, when I created [things] with My power. And what is Allah's power?" They said: "When I created [things], do you not accept the two powers?" We said: "We do not accept it." They said: "When I created [things] with My blessing, and the hand is used in the sense of blessing. And what are the two blessings? Ah? Does Allah have only two blessings?
And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them وإن تعدوا نعمة الله لا تحصوها
[An-Nahl 16:18]
Yes? How is it that there are only two blessings? And what are the two blessings by which Allah created Adam?"
And so it is with what came regarding the attributes.
descends to the lowest heaven ينزل إلى السماء الدنيا
Mishkat al-Masabih 2601
Then he touches his head. "I seek refuge in Allah. Allah descends to the lowest heaven. This is disbelief itself. And what descends?" They said: "What descends is His command. His command descends to the lowest heaven."
Fine, and the command does not reach the earth, and Allah says:
He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth يدبر الأمر من السماء إلى الأرض
[As-Sajdah 32:5]
? They said: "Do you not accept the command?" "We do not accept the command."
Mercy descends. His mercy descends to the lowest heaven. Fine, and does the mercy of the earth not descend?
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness فانظر إلى آثار رحمة الله كيف يحيي الأرض بعد موتها
[Ar-Rum 30:50]
, and what is the benefit to us of a mercy that descends to the lowest heaven and does not reach us? Yes? They said: "Do you not accept it?" We said: "We do not accept it."
They said: "An angel from His angels descends. Yes? Fine, and do the angels not reach the earth? And the Messenger informs that angels succeed one another among us by night and by day." They said: "We do not accept it. We do not accept that Allah descends with His Self. And can the angels say, 'Whoever calls upon Me, I will respond to him'? Can they say this? Because the One who descends says:
Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven and says: "Whoever calls upon Me ينزل ربنا إلى السماء الدنيا فيقول : من يدعوني
Sunan ad-Darimi 2:295
Is it possible that the angels say, 'Whoever calls upon Me'? If the angels said, 'Whoever calls upon Me, I will respond to him,' would that be disbelief or not? Because they would have claimed lordship for themselves."
Can mercy say: "Whoever calls upon Me, I will respond to him"? Answer? It is not possible. But despite that, they say: "We believe in what came from Allah and His Messenger." Then they come with such great matters upon which the creed is built, and then they deny them, either by figurative interpretation if they cannot refute the text, or by lying about the text. Yes. So they resemble these hypocrites.
