Those who deviate from the path of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the matter of faith in Allah and the Last Day are three groups: the people of imagination, the people of figurative interpretation, and the people of ignorance.
The people of imagination are called that because they say: What the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought regarding faith in Allah and the Last Day is all parables and imaginings with no reality; they have no reality. There is no Lord, no resurrection, no Paradise, and no Hellfire. But the messengers brought this by way of parables, by way of striking examples, and by way of imaginings so that people would imagine that there is a Lord, a Last Day, a reward, and a punishment.
Are you with me, everyone? And that is why they are called by this name, the people of imagination, because they say this. Who are these people?
