The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
How many categories are there of those who deviate from the straight path regarding faith in Allah and the Last Day? Hajjaj? Yes.

The Shaykh : The people of imagination, the people of figurative interpretation, and the people of ignorance... they are intended and sought after, and are required of every person because of what they contain of taming the soul, endurance, patience, benefit, and the like.
Another group said: These acts of worship have no reality, and are not intended for their own sake, but are only intended for a goal; when a person reaches it, they are dropped from him. Accordingly, the common people are commanded to perform them, but not the elite.
As for the elite who have reached the pinnacle, they are not commanded to perform them, nor are they required of them. Therefore, in terms of actions, they are permissivists; in terms of actions, they are permissivists. He says: Do not pray, do not give zakah, do not fast, do not perform Hajj, do not marry, marry whomever you wish, may Allah protect us from that, because they say that all these restrictions are only commanded for whom? The common people who are not fit except with them. As for the elite who have reached the goal, they are not commanded, because Allah says: And certainty is conviction, not what is death in their view; it is conviction without doubt or hesitation. So when you reach this goal, you do not worship your Lord.
Just as we say to a man who rented a car to Mecca and he wants Mecca: when he reaches Mecca, does he keep the car or leave it? He leaves it.
This is their method in the chapter of acts of worship. So they became, may Allah protect us from that, in beliefs and scholarly matters, in agreement on denying them, but they differed on whether the messengers know them or not?
As for acts of worship, they differ. Some of them said: They are intended and beneficial for the creation, both the common people and the elite.
And some of them said: They are not intended, but the common people are commanded to perform them so that they reach the degree of certainty. When they reach the degree of certainty, they are dropped from them. Therefore, we do not command the elite to do that. Good.
