Continuation of the explanation of the author's statement: "And these people used to appear to support the Sunnah while concealing themselves with the doctrine of negation, but Allah the Exalted

The Shaykh : In reality, this is among the attributes of bodies, and we do not say that He descends to the lowest heaven in reality, because this is among the attributes of bodies. Nor do we say that He has a face, a hand, or the like, because this is among the attributes of bodies. We purify Allah from what is not befitting Him, and we defend our creed and refute the statements of the Mu'tazilah, the Jahmiyyah, the philosophers, and the like. So what do they appear to do? They appear to support the Sunnah.
But the Shaykh al-Islam says: "They did not support Islam, nor did they defeat the philosophers". Rather, their affair only increased in severity; their affair only increased in severity, and the people did not benefit from their knowledge.
