What is the meaning of the author's statement: "Even though his saying: 'Do not be like so-and-so,' may encompass his similarity by way of wording or meaning"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The meaning of his statement: "... may encompass his similarity by way of wording or meaning" is what...

The Shaykh : That is, the meaning of "do not be like him" may be intended to mean like him in every respect, like him in everything, in which case the similarity is general, and this is what the wording implies. It may also be intended to mean do not be like him in meaning, which includes the slightest similarity, because if one intends similarity in meaning, then his similarity in any part of what is specific to him becomes similarity. So his intended meaning, and Allah knows best, is generality in both wording and meaning. Yes.
