Explaining the criterion for easing in acts of worship, and clarifying that it is not in accordance with the Sunnah to recite half of a surah when the Sunnah prescribes reciting it in its entirety in one rak'ah or in two rak'ahs.

The Shaykh : And what he said is correct. That is, if we made easing and its opposite dependent on people's custom, the Shari'ah would differ, for every people have their own custom. Even now, a person applies the Shari'ah as best he can. You find some people saying, "It is heavy for us," and others saying, "You have made it light for us"
But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth
[Al-Mu'minun 23:71]
. Therefore, we say that easing and its opposite refer to what?
The student: The Shari'ah.

The Shaykh : Yes, to the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
We find now that some people, when the imam recites on Friday
The letter Alif, Lam, Meem, the prostration chapter
and
Has there not come upon man a period of time?
, shout at him, "Fear Allah! Lighten it!" The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When one of you leads the people in prayer, he should lighten it, for behind him are the weak, the old, and the one in need.
And we need to go to our shops to work. It is said that easing and its opposite follow the Shari'ah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and Anas spoke of his prayer:
I never prayed behind an imam , who was more brief or more perfect in his prayer than the Prophet
Mishkat al-Masabih 1129
Some imams do not have the courage and recite
The letter Alif, Lam, Meem, the prostration chapter
and divide it into two halves. This is wrong; this is a great error. Why? Because now he has completely contradicted the Sunnah. It is said: either recite the Sunnah as it was, or recite other surahs. But to make the Sunnah into two parts, dividing something that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not divide, this is the very opposite. Some people recite
Alif, Lam, Mim. The revealed [Qur'an] الم تنزيل
al-Sajdah, and when they prostrate and recite two verses after al-Sajdah, they bow, then recite "Has there come," and when they are about to finish it, they bow. This is also contrary to the Sunnah. It is said to the imam: you must be courageous in the religion of Allah and not care about anyone. Even if a person heard what people say and their objections, he would not take a step. But you should rectify what is between you and Allah and not worry about anyone. The speech is to please Allah (Mighty and Majestic). If you seek the pleasure of Allah, even if people are angry, Allah will be pleased with you and make people pleased with you, and He will suffice you from their burden. But to submit to them, when someone shouts, "Lazy! He does not stand for prayer unless he is lazy, and by Allah, you have prolonged it for us," and then you submit and say, "By Allah, follow our weakest one." Is the intention the weakest in resolve, or the weakest in body? The weakest in body, and also on the condition that this does not violate the requirements of the Sunnah. If we adopt this, it is said: sit down if you cannot remain standing until the recitation of al-Sajdah. But to submit to the idle and their words and the complainers, this is of no benefit at all. Yes. Hajjaj said, "The time has ended."
