Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "And al-Tirmidhi narrated from Abu Hurayrah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And al-Tirmidhi narrated from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted
And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people وإن تتولوا يستبدل قوما غيركم
[Muhammad 47:38]

The Shaykh : turn away
The reader:
And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people وإن تتولوا يستبدل قوما غيركم
[Muhammad 47:38]
That they are from the sons of Persia, and other reports narrated regarding the virtue of men from the sons of Persia. And the proof of this is what was found among the Tabi'un and those after them, from the free men and the mawali of the sons of Persia, such as al-Hasan, Ibn Sirin, and Ikrimah, the mawla of Ibn Abbas, and others, up to those found after them who excelled in knowledge and religion"

The Shaykh : the excelling ones
The reader: "who excelled in faith, religion, and knowledge, until these excelling ones became better than most of the Arabs in that. And likewise in all categories of the non-Arabs, from the Abyssinians, the Romans, and the Turks, among whom are those who are ahead in faith and religion"
The student: And they are the Turks

The Shaykh : Do you have it? I have it, or others
The student: He referred to it

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: He referred to it in my copy, but it mentions that it is only printed, not a manuscript copy

The Shaykh : Complete
The reader: "ahead in faith and religion, too numerous to count, as is known to the scholars; for true excellence is following what Allah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with, of faith and knowledge, inwardly and outwardly. So whoever is most secure in that is the best. And excellence is only by the praiseworthy names in the Book and the Sunnah, such as Islam, faith, righteousness, piety, knowledge, good deeds, excellence in worship, and the like, not merely by a person being Arab, or non-Arab, or black, or white, nor by being a villager or a Bedouin"
