Issue: Who is to be appointed to lead the prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The correct view regarding the issue of giving precedence in prayer is "that honor does not grant precedence except in the case of complete equality in every respect". This is rare, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The one who is most versed in Allah's Book should act as Imam for the people, but If they are equally versed in reciting it, then the one who has most knowledge regarding Sunnah if they are equal regarding the Sunnah, then the earliest one to emigrate; it they emigrated at the same time, then the earliest one to embrace Islam.
Sahih Muslim 673a
However, in the case of complete equality in every respect, we give precedence to the Arabs, because they are more eloquent and more knowledgeable about what is recited in the Qur'an. But for them to be equal in all these qualities is rare or very uncommon. Yes.
The student: O Shaykh, I have a question.

The Shaykh : Yes, what is it?
The student: I have a difficulty.

The Shaykh : Yes
