Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His third and final question asks whether ordinary people who are not knowledgeable, it is better to say whether ordinary people who are not knowledgeable about the schools of jurisprudence, are obligated to follow a specific school from the four schools, and which school do you recommend following? May Allah reward you with the best reward.

The Shaykh : The correct view is that no one is obligated to follow one school of jurisprudence over another, except for one school, which is the school of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : O Allah, send blessings.

The Shaykh : These four imams all desire to adhere to the way of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), but they are human beings who make mistakes and hit the mark. We do not see that it is obligatory to follow the statement of any one of them absolutely. Rather, we say that if it becomes clear that the truth is in his statement, it is obligatory to follow him because it is the truth, not because it is the statement of so-and-so or so-and-so. This is what we see in this issue.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
