Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And they will not find for themselves any protector or helper other than Allah"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Allah the Exalted said: "
and they will not find for themselves besides Allah
[An-Nisa 4:173]
meaning other than Him
a protector وَلِيًّا
who benefits them
nor a helper وَلا نَصِيرًا
who averts harm from them "

The student: ...

The Shaykh : In my view, "who benefits them"
they will not find for themselves
[An-Nisa 4:173]
means that these people who fled from the battle will not find anyone who benefits them, brings them good, or averts harm from them.
a protector وَلِيًّا
The wali is the one who takes charge of your affairs and cares for you, so these people will not find anyone other than Allah. And His saying:
a protector ولياً
means the general guardianship, because the guardianship of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is divided into two types: a general guardianship that encompasses everyone, and a special guardianship for the believers only. Allah the Exalted said:
Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light.
[al-Baqarah: 257] And He said:
That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector.
[Muhammad: 11] As for the general meaning, it is like His saying:
Then they His servants are returned to Allah, their true Lord
[al-An'am: 62] For this is the general guardianship, because Allah the Exalted is the wali of everyone in the general sense, which is management, ownership, and authority. And His saying:
nor a helper ولا نصيراً
