The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Or have they taken besides Him allies? But Allah is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.”

Among the benefits of the verse is the rebuke of those who took allies other than Allah, for the “in” here means “but,” and the interrogative hamza is one of denial.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is that these people sought something from other than its proper place, as He said: It is He who should be taken as a protector, Mighty and Majestic. So Allah is the Protector.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is the affirmation of Allah’s protection, as He said: Is this protection general or not? Al-Jalalayn proceeded on the basis that it is specific, saying: “the Protector of the believers”. The correct view is that it is general in this verse; Allah is the Protector of everyone. Indeed, Allah the Exalted is the Protector of the disbelievers, providing for them, granting them well-being, repelling evil from them, and taking charge of them, as He the Exalted said: But we say: protection is of two types, general and specific, as we have explained in the tafsir.
And among the benefits of the noble verse is that there is no protection for anyone other than Allah, based on His saying: because “He” is a pronoun of restriction that implies exclusivity.
