He says that the Shi'ah are known for their hostility toward the people of the Sunnah and the community, so how can their action be praiseworthy?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says that the Shi'ah are known for their hostility toward the people of the Sunnah and the community, so how can their action be praiseworthy?

The Shaykh : This man says that the Shi'ah are known as enemies of the people of the Sunnah and the community, so how can their action be praiseworthy? We say: A person may be praised for his action but not for his religion, because our praise of their action does not imply that we praise their religion. Rather, we have no doubt that they are upon a false religion, that they are far from the truth, and that it is obligatory for them to return to the path of the people of the Sunnah. The wonder is that they claim to be the people of the Sunnah; that is, they say to the people of the Sunnah, "You are upon the Sunnah," and then they contradict it. If the people of the Sunnah are... do you want the Sunnah? This man is praised for his generosity, and he is a disbeliever; he is praised for his generosity, and he is a disbeliever, and for his excellence in worship, and he is a disbeliever. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the prisoners of Badr:
If Mut'im ibn 'Adi were alive and spoke to me on behalf of these prisoners, I would leave them for him لو كان المطعم بن عدي حيا فكلمني في هؤلاء الأسرى لتركتهم له
Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 13:123
Why? Because he had entered under his protection. The Messenger entered under the protection of Mut'im. So the obligation is justice. We say by justice that a praiseworthy action from any person is to be praised. Yes, if we feared a harm from this, such as this person becoming proud of himself or it becoming an advertisement for the falsehood upon him, then at that time we remain silent. We take the good without praising the one who is not worthy of praise.
