The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: <<

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Exalted said:
And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"
[Al-Qasas 28:65]
In this verse,
And the Day He will call themويوم يناديهم
—in the first part of the sentence— what was mentioned previously in His saying:
And the Day He will call them and say: Where are My partners?
regarding the affirmation of the speech of Allah, that it is with a voice, that it is heard, and that it is with letters, is that correct or not? All of this has been mentioned before.
It is derived from His saying:
What did you answer the messengers?" ماذا أجبتم المرسلين
[Al-Qasas 28:65]
that people will be asked about their faith in the messengers just as they are asked about tawhid (the oneness of Allah).
What did you answer the messengers?

It is derived from it that the questioning in the Hereafter is general for all of creation, is that not so? Yes. The messengers, meaning Muhammad and others. As for the questioning in the grave, many scholars have held that it is specific to this Ummah (the Muslim community) due to his saying:
These people are passing through the ordeal in the graves
Sahih Muslim 2867
and his saying:
It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves
The issue is one of scholarly disagreement, and it was discussed previously in the section on tawhid (the oneness of Allah). On the Day of Resurrection, the questioning is general by the explicit text of the Qur'an.
Among the benefits of the verse is making apparent the virtue of the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them), where Allah the Exalted affirmed the truth of their message in this great station.
