And among them is the wisdom of Allah, the Exalted, in testing a person by the harm people cause him regarding his faith; the wisdom of Allah, the Exalted, in testing a person by the harm people cause him, yes, regarding his faith.
And among the benefits of the verse is that the trial is the test by which the truthful one is distinguished from the others; otherwise, everyone would say, "I am a believer."
And among them is that whoever does not have faith firmly rooted in his heart will turn away from it when he is harmed for it.
And among them is that the hypocrites claim to share in the faith of the believers during times of ease, but they abandon them in times of hardship.

The Shaykh : During times of ease, in the year of dominance, it is even more so, and they abandon them in times of hardship; when they are harmed for the sake of Allah, they become apostates.
Among the benefits of the verse is also that victory is from Allah.
And among them is the warning against hypocrisy, due to His saying: [Al-'Ankabut: 10]
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah.
