The scrupulousness of the Salaf in declaring something forbidden, and that they only declare it disliked.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is an important issue. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) was scrupulous about saying, "This is forbidden," if the issue was doubtful. He disliked using the term [forbidden], even though they said that if one says, "I do not like it," that is for prohibition. However, he was cautious about declaring something forbidden except for what has come in the texts.
