What is the ruling on one who digs a grave in his house and tells his family, “Bury me in it when I die”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some people build a grave in their house.

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Some people build a grave for themselves in their house, and they enter it every day before the midday prayer, then they say: “O Lord, send us back so that we may do good,” then they say: “You are here, you have returned,” and they call upon their followers to do the same. What is the ruling on this?

The Shaykh : By Allah, if they were taken to the hospital for the insane, that would be better. The hospital for the insane, yes. This person must be treated. And does this actually exist? Does it exist?

The questioner : And he claims the Sunnah.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And he claims that this is from the Sunnah.

The Shaykh : I seek refuge in Allah. Where is the Sunnah?

The questioner : What is the response to them?

The Shaykh : The response to them is: Do they follow the Messenger or do they follow their desires?

The questioner : They say that they are the most deserving of people to follow the Messenger.

The Shaykh : And what? Did the Messenger do it? Did the Caliphs do it? Did the Companions do it? They all had properties, lands, and gardens, and they were buried in al-Baqi', in the Muslim cemetery.
