Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "Or it reached him, but he did not see such a thing falling under the meaning of the prohibition, or because he did not consider this forbidden, and its limit is that it is disliked, and disliking what is disliked is not obligatory, or he considered that this man".

The Shaykh : To state generally that disliking what is disliked is not obligatory requires consideration. Rather, it is said that disliking what is disliked, if it is taken as worship, is obligatory, so that people do not fall into religious innovation. Yes, if a person, for example, turns around in his prayer, turning around in prayer is disliked, it is not obligatory for me to disapprove of it, because this is disliked, and disapproving of it is a recommended practice.
But as for a person innovating something in the religion, it is necessary to disapprove of it, even if it is a disliked innovation. Yes.
The reader: "Or he considered that this man only intended to greet, and the supplication came as an incidental and secondary matter. There is consideration in this.
There is no doubt that scholars may differ in such matters, just as they differed regarding the validity of prayer at the grave, and one who does not invalidate it may not prohibit one who does it.
The basis is the Book and the Sunnah, and what the predecessors were upon, and moreover, this Muhammad ibn al-Hasan has narrated reports from the Salaf that support what we have mentioned. He said: 'Umar ibn Harun narrated to me, from Salama ibn Wardan, who said:
I saw Anas ibn Malik greeting the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he would lean his back against the wall of the grave, then he would supplicate رأيت أنس بن مالك يُسلم على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم يُسند ظهره إلى جدار القبر، ثم يدعو
If this is established from Anas, it supports what we have mentioned"
.
The student: If it is established

The Shaykh : How?
The student: So if it is established

The Shaykh : Yes, so if it is established from Anas.
The reader: "If this is established from Anas, it supports what we have mentioned, for Anas was not a resident of Madinah, but he would come from Basra, either with the pilgrims or similar to them, and he would greet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then when he wanted to make the supplication that is appropriate for his status, it would be incidental and secondary, facing away from the grave".

The Shaykh : . The time for questions has come.
