Addendum to the benefits of the hadith: (Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of intoxicants, carrion, pork, and idols . . . ).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And they say it is permissible to sell it to one who wants to tan it and purify it, because this might be the owner of the sheep that died and flayed its skin, and he may not have what to tan the skin with, and another person comes and says, "I will buy it and tan it." Do you permit that? The answer is no, we do not permit it. So what about the analogy? We say the analogy is not valid because this skin is a part of the carrion, a part of the carrion, so its impurity is intrinsic and original. Therefore, we cannot permit its sale until it exits the ruling of carrion, until it exits the ruling of carrion. As for the garment that has become impure, the impurity is accidental upon it, and its origin?
The student: Pure.

The Shaykh : is pure. It is not a part of carrion or a part of something impure, but its origin is pure. For this reason, we permitted its sale before it is washed. Is the difference clear, or not? So, does the carrion have two generalities?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : In terms of the types of carrion and in terms of the parts of the carrion. The estimation of the first generality is that we say?
The student: The sale of every carrion is forbidden.

The Shaykh : The sale of every carrion, the sale of every carrion. And the estimation of the second generality?
The student: Every part of the carrion.

The Shaykh : ... Every part of the carrion. Yes, good. And we now know what is excluded from that.
The student: For dire necessity.

The Shaykh : No. If someone said, yes, if someone said, if a person is compelled to sell carrion, is it permissible to sell it to him? The answer is no, because of the generality, and because in the case of dire necessity, one must be given what removes his necessity, even if it is slaughtered meat. If the owner of the carrion refuses to give it to the person in dire necessity except for dirhams? Except for a sale here, it is given to him, and the sin?
The student: Is on the seller.

The Shaykh : Is on the seller. It is given to him, and the sin is on the seller. Good. Are the horns permissible to sell? Hmm?
The student: It is permissible.

The Shaykh : Hmm, like the nail that has separated from life. This is permissible, like the nail, and what is not ... Good. What is analogous to the carrion is what is harmful to the body. Everything that harms the body falls under the ruling of carrion, like here?
The student: Tobacco.

The Shaykh : Tobacco, shisha, because it is harmful, and there is no doubt in its harm. So the sale of shisha is forbidden, and if its sale is forbidden, then leasing the shops to those who sell it is forbidden, because this is aiding in sin and transgression. And Allah the Exalted said:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression ولا تعاونوا على الإثم والعدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
Also forbidden is aiding the smoker in obtaining it by any means. Based on this, if the father says to his son, "Take, my son, these ten riyals and buy me a pack of tobacco," is he obligated to obey him?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: He is not obligated.

The Shaykh : Is he not obligated?
The student: He is not obligated.

The Shaykh : Good, he is not obligated. He is not obligated.
The student: It is forbidden for him.

The Shaykh : That is, it is forbidden for him, it is forbidden for him, because Allah the Exalted said:
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them وإن جاهداك على أن تشرك بي ما ليس لك به علم فلا تطعهما
[Luqman 31:15]
Good. If he says to him, "Buy it for me, or I will divorce your mother"?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : No...
The student: ...

The Shaykh : No, no. This matter happens with some of the foolish people, meaning they compel the son to this. Is this a dire necessity?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : It appears that this is a dire necessity, because perhaps this foolish father might dare and divorce the mother, and this might be the last of the divorces, so the ties of the family are severed. The important point is that if dire necessity calls for it, it is like the other forbidden things that dire necessity permits. As for if it is not a dire necessity, then he must disobey his father in that.
Good. If he says, "Am I not considered undutiful if my father cannot go out to the market and buy for himself due to illness or old age?" Hmm?
The student: No...

The Shaykh : He says, "My son, if I could, I would go out... Fear your Lord."
The student: ...

The Shaykh : That is right. He says, "Yes, I fear my Lord by refusing. I did not refuse this except out of fear of my Lord. Do you want me to buy you food, clothes, a mattress? On my eyes and head. But that I buy you something that aids you in the disobedience of Allah? That is no."
Good. Is poison analogous to the carrion? Yes.
The student: There is a distinction.

The Shaykh : Yes. If it is bought for harm, it is forbidden, like this? And if it is bought for benefit, it is lawful. Among this are pesticides, the pesticides that are bought for the diseases of weeds and crops and the like. We say that these things, if they cannot be benefited from except by way of harm, their sale is forbidden. Otherwise, their sale is lawful because there is benefit in them. Good, is it clear?
The student: It is clear.

The Shaykh : What did you say?
The student: ... benefit, so it is lawful.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is right.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Good. Is there anything else that can be analogous to it from what harms the body?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Blood?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes, blood. Is it permissible to sell it or not?
The student: There is a distinction.

The Shaykh : There is no distinction, because Allah has forbidden it. Allah has forbidden blood
Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood حرّمت عليكم الميتة والدّم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
So the sale of blood is forbidden, whether it is sold for eating or drinking or injection. It is not permissible to sell it. For eating? How for eating? It can be for eating. It can be solid, and a person can eat it, or drink it if it is hot. Injection? If a sick person needs a blood transfusion, we say its sale is forbidden.
If someone says, "Is blood not permissible in dire necessity?" We say, "Is not carrion permissible in dire necessity?" He will say, "Yes." In both matters, we say: if the carrion is sold for dire necessity and the Lawgiver has forbidden its sale, then so is blood; it is not permissible. If a person is compelled to it and finds no one to give it to him except for a price, the sin is on the seller. As for him, it is permissible to remove his necessity by it. Yes, good.

The questioner : It is not permissible ...

The Shaykh : Any blood, any blood, the blood of a human and the blood of a beast. Any blood that is not lawful is not lawful. The lawful blood is lawful. Two carrions and two bloods were made lawful for us.

The questioner : It might be ... he takes the blood ...?

The Shaykh : ... We asked before and you answered ... Good.

The questioner : ...
