Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: (Ibn 'Umar - may Allah be pleased with both of them - said: I bought oil in the market

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: And from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) who said:
I bought some oil in the market ابتعت زيتا في السوق
Bulugh al-Maram 7:27
"I bought" means I purchased, whereas "I sold" means I gave the thing, and "I bought" means I purchased ... So with us, the root is shara; if the taa is added to it, it means taking, and if it is removed, it means giving. So the seller is the one who gives, and the buyer is the one who takes. It is said "shara" meaning he sold, and "ash-tara" meaning he took, i.e., he bought. And it is said "ba'a" meaning what? He gave. And "ibtaya'a" means he took. Good, how is that?
The student: This is an explanation.

The Shaykh : Good, then ... just the benefits
The student: Four.

The Shaykh : What are they?
The student: The permissibility of buying and selling from scholars and those of high status.

The Shaykh : What? And from those of high status?
The student: From the scholar, the jurist, and those of high status.

The Shaykh : And what else?
The student: And those of high status.

The Shaykh : And those of high status, good.
The student: The second is the eagerness of the Companions to enjoin good and forbid evil.

The Shaykh : Very well.
The student: The third is the promptness in preventing evil.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: The fourth is that such a thing is not said to contain envy toward the buyer or selling on top of his sale, as some of the common people imagine.

The Shaykh : Yes, are these benefits clear?
