Benefits of the Hadith: “Gold for gold, weight for weight, equal for equal…”

The Shaykh : This hadith provides evidence for what was previously mentioned regarding the obligation of equality in selling some gold for other gold, and the obligation of equality in selling some silver for other silver. It also establishes that the standard must be weight, and that both the one who takes the riba (usury or interest) and the one who gives it have fallen into riba (usury or interest).
