Chapter: The Removal of Knowledge and the Manifestation of Ignorance, and Rabi'ah said: It is not befitting for anyone who possesses some knowledge to waste himself.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "Chapter: The Removal of Knowledge and the Manifestation of Ignorance, and Rabi'ah said: It is not befitting for anyone who possesses some knowledge to waste himself".

The Shaykh : This statement is good. "It is not befitting for anyone who possesses some knowledge to waste himself". How? By neglecting the knowledge that Allah granted him and by not acting upon it. Wasting knowledge occurs by neglecting it, not reviewing it, and not caring about it. It also occurs by abandoning the act of implementing it; that is, he does not neglect it, he reviews it and memorizes it, but he does not act upon it. This is considered wasting knowledge, meaning he did not benefit from it. This should be a testament for every student of knowledge: to review the knowledge that Allah has bestowed upon him. How?
The student: By reviewing.

The Shaykh : By reviewing, studying, and also acting upon it. For this reason, some of them said, "Bind knowledge with action," and some said, "Bind it with writing." Both are correct. Yes.
