Ruling on combining prayers before leaving the village or city in which one resides

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A man intends to travel after the Zuhr prayer and before the time for the 'Asr prayer enters. Is it permissible for him to combine the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers in the time of the first prayer?

A: He may not combine the two prayers until he leaves the area of the village or city and emerges into the desert; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Zuhr with four rak'ahs in the city during the Farewell Pilgrimage, then he left and prayed 'Asr with two rak'ahs at Dhul-Hulaifah. And success is from Allah.
