Is it permissible to combine the Friday prayer with the 'Asr prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to combine the Friday prayer with the 'Asr prayer?

The Shaykh : It is permissible. We see no difference between combining the Dhuhr and 'Asr prayers and combining the Friday and 'Asr prayers; both are the same. We do not need a text that explicitly states that the Messenger (peace be upon him) combined the Friday prayer with the 'Asr prayer, because combining prayers is a benefit that necessitates a person to combine them; if the benefit necessitates combining, then he combines. They said: "What did he intend by that, O Abu al-'Abbas?" He said: "He intended not to burden his Ummah." We do not have hadiths that he combined repeatedly during his residence in Madinah... to obtain a narration that he combined the Friday prayer with the 'Asr prayer... If the reason that justifies combining the Dhuhr and 'Asr prayers for residents is present, it is the same reason that justifies...
