Explanation of the author's statement: "And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, having no partner, in affirmation of Him and in singling Him out for worship"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said: "And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, having no partner". "I bear witness" means: I affirm with my heart and speak with my tongue. For bearing witness, O my brothers, is speaking and reporting what is in the heart. When you testify before a judge regarding the right of so-and-so against so-and-so, do you testify with your heart and not with your tongue? No, you testify with the tongue that expresses what is in the heart.
So "I bear witness" means: I affirm with my heart and speak with my tongue. Bearing witness was chosen over mere affirmation because the root of bearing witness is witnessing a thing, meaning being present to it and seeing it. So this person who reports what is in his heart and speaks with his tongue is as if he is witnessing the matter with his own eyes.
"That there is no god but Allah": Its meaning was explained previously.
"Alone, having no partner": "Alone" is, in terms of meaning, an emphasis of the affirmation, not the negation? It is an emphasis of the affirmation. "Having no partner": is an emphasis of the negation.
"In affirmation of Him and in singling Him out for worship": "In affirmation" is a verbal noun. If you wish, you may say: it is an absolute object, because it is a semantic verbal noun for his saying: "I bear witness". The grammarians say: if the verbal noun means the verb without its letters, it is a semantic verbal noun; and if it means it with its letters, it is a lexical verbal noun. So "I stood, standing" is lexical, and "I stood, standing up" is semantic. "I sat, sitting" is lexical, and "I sat, sitting down" is semantic. "I testified, affirming" is semantic. So the author's "in affirmation" is an absolute object for "I bear witness," and it is a semantic verbal noun.
He said: "And in singling Him out for worship". "In singling Him out for worship" is a confirming verbal noun for his saying: "There is no god but Allah".
