Explanation of the author's statement and his saying: (When one of you stands up for prayer, he should not spit in front of his face or to his right, for Allah is in front of his face.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He also says: "And his saying:
When one of you stands up for prayer, he should not spit in front of his face or to his right, for Allah is in front of his face. But to his left or under his foot.
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim"

Abu Dharr narrated that: the Prophet (S) said: "When one of you stands for Salat then he should not smoothen the pebbles, for indeed it is mercy that he is facing."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 379Hasan (Darussalam)
Spittle is well known, I think
The student: ...

The Shaykh :
in front of his face قبل وجهه
meaning in front of him
or to his right ولا عن يمينه
As for the fact that he should not spit in front of his face, he gave the reason, saying:
for Allah is in front of his face
Allah the Exalted said
And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah
[Al-Baqarah 2:115]
Good.
and to his right وعن يمينه
The scholars said, but I think it was mentioned in a hadith that
as there is an angel
Sahih al-Bukhari 416
Then, even if that is not the case, the right side is better than the left, so it should be on the left. That is why he said:
but allowed it on one's left or under one's left foot
Sahih al-Bukhari 414
Good. So if he is in the mosque
The student: In a rag

The Shaykh : The scholars said, in a rag, a handkerchief, or in his garment, and he wipes some of it with some of it until the image of the spittle is removed, or to his left.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Good. What if we assume a person is at the wall
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Be patient. Behind the wall is a street, and the wall is short.
The student: It is possible

The Shaykh : Is this possible or not?
The student: It is possible

The Shaykh : It is possible. In the beginning, people used to pray on the rooftops, the rooftops of the mosques. Did you not understand, or what?
The student: Yes...

The Shaykh : The rooftop has a wall, a short wall over the street. Yes, it is possible with great ease.
The student: The passerby, O Shaykh, from the side of the mosque... O Shaykh

The Shaykh : In any case, if it is not possible for him to spit to his left except in the mosque, he should not spit in the mosque, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Spitting in the Masjid is a sin
Sunan an-Nasa'i 723Sahih (Darussalam)

It is derived from this hadith that Allah the Exalted is in front of the face of the one praying, ahead of him. But we must know that the one who said it is in front of the face of the one praying is the one who said it is in the sky, is that not so? Yes, it is the one who said that. There is no contradiction between this statement and that, because it is possible to reconcile them in three ways:
The first way: The Shari'ah reconciles between them and never reconciles between the impossible. It never reconciles between two contradictory things.
The second way: It is possible for something to be high and yet in front of your face, correct? For example, this spittle is in front of me, and it is above or below?
The student: Above

The Shaykh : Above me. A man faces the sun at the beginning of the day, so it is in front of him, and it is
The student: Above

The Shaykh : And it is high in the sky. He faces it at the end of the day, and it is in front of him, and it is high in the sky. So if this is possible with the created, then with the Creator it is even more certain, without a doubt.
The third way: We say, suppose this is impossible with the created, it is not impossible with the Creator, because Allah the Exalted is not like anything in all His attributes. And he is counting them for us now. 'Abd al-Minan, count the three ways.
The student: We say that if it is impossible

The Shaykh : First of all, it is not "if it is impossible"
The student: If this is possible with the created

The Shaykh : No, the attributes of the created are fitting for him, and the attributes of the Creator are fitting for Him. Good.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : This is what I said. The Messenger said it here, and he said at the beginning
Our Lord is Allah Who is in the heaven
Sunan Abi Dawud 3892Da'if (Al-Albani)
