The student: Because al-Dhahabi says: "And I saw a treatise by Abu al-Hasan in his own handwriting on the letter and the sound, may Allah forgive him for it, I wish he had remained silent"

The Shaykh : It became a lament.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : A lament, yes. And the second?
The student: And the second is al-Tabarani: Abu al-Qasim Sulayman ibn Ahmad ibn Ayub ibn Maqiz al-Lakhmi al-Shami al-Tabarani, the author of the biographical dictionaries. He was born in the city of Acre in the month of Safar in the year 260, and his mother was from Acre. He died with two days remaining of Dhul-Qa'dah in the year 360 in Isfahan, at the age of one hundred years and ten months.

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, yes.
The student: Al-Lalika'i, and he is: Habat Allah ibn al-Hasan ibn Mansur ibn al-Qasim al-Razi, of Tabar origin, known as al-Lalika'i. He came to Baghdad, settled there, and studied Shafi'i jurisprudence. He died on a Tuesday, with six days remaining.

The Shaykh : Remaining, remaining, with six days remaining.
The student: Remaining of the month of Ramadan in the year 418.

The Shaykh : What was his birth year?
The student: It was not mentioned.

The Shaykh : His birth year.
The student: It was not mentioned.

The Shaykh : Very well.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: It is said he was a freed slave of Zayd ibn Thabit, and it is said he was a freed slave of Jamil ibn ..., and his mother was Khayrah, a freed slave of Umm Salama.

The Shaykh : A freed slave, Allahu Akbar, yes.
The student: He was born with two years remaining of the caliphate of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He was raised in the house of Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her). Al-A'mash said: "Al-Hasan continued to retain wisdom until he spoke it". And when he was mentioned in the presence of Abu Ja'far, meaning the Hafiz, he said: "That is the one whose speech resembles the speech of the prophets".

The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest.
The student: He died in the year 110, at the age of eighty-nine. Al-Dhahabi said: "And".
