The Best Uses of a Bequest

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: His Eminence, the father, Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, the Grand Mufti (may Allah preserve him)
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
Please inform Your Eminence that my mother bequeathed one-third of her wealth without specifying its use. The question is: What is better: placing it in the construction of a mosque, or purchasing a property and spending its income on charitable works? May Allah preserve you.

Answer: And upon you be peace, the mercy of Allah, and His blessings: We see that it is better to purchase a property with it, and to spend its income in assisting the poor and needy, whether they are relatives or not, and to spend whatever is feasible from it on the maintenance of mosques and participating in them.
May Allah guide everyone, and peace be upon you, the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.
