What is the ruling if I am praying the Sunnah in the mosque and the obligatory prayer is called for, and I am in the second rak'ah?

The Shaykh : The action is: if you are confident that you will complete your prayer and catch the imam at the first takbir, complete it; otherwise, break it off.

The questioner : The first takbir.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And if the prayer is called for and you are, for example, in the second rak'ah.

The Shaykh : My brother, do not repeat yourself. Understand the answer and the matter is finished. If you are in prayer and the prayer is called for, and you are confident that if you complete the prayer you will catch the takbir of intention, complete the prayer; otherwise, break it off.
