What is the meaning of "so he is not one of us..." in the Prophetic hadith?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is his saying:
He is not one of usفليس منا
to be taken at its apparent meaning?

Answer:
It is from the category of warnings among the people of the Sunnah; it is to be passed over as it came, from the category of warnings. Its meaning is not that he is a disbeliever; no, he is not a disbeliever. For example, his saying:
He is not one of us (one among the Ummah of Islam) who beat the cheeks or tore the front opening of the shirt or uttered the slogans of (the days of) Jahiliya (ignorance).ليس منا من ضرب الخدود أو شق الجيوب أو دعا بدعوى الجاهلية
Sahih Muslim 103a
, and for example:
I have no concern with one with whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has no concern, Verily the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has no concern with that woman who wails loudly, shaves her hair and tears (her garment in grief).أنا بريء من الصالقة والحالقة والشاقة
Sahih Muslim 104a
.
Q: Who is the one who alienates a wife?
The Shaykh: Likewise, the hadith of
He is not one of us who alienates a wife from her husband or a slave from his master.مَنْ خَبَّبَ زوجة على زوجها أو مملوكه فليس منا
. It is not permissible for him to alienate her, meaning to make her averse to him, meaning he does things that make her dislike her husband, or makes a slave dislike his master until he hates his master and she hates her husband. He says: "Your husband has no good in him," "Your husband is stingy," "You see him going to the women," "You see he wants to marry." The point is: he brings up things that make her life difficult with her husband. This is from injustice, aggression, and spreading corruption on earth. We ask Allah for safety.
So with the slave: "Your master is not good," "Your master has such and such and such and such," "Strive for him to sell you or free you," and the like; until he corrupts his slave for him.
