Is it preferable to perform four rak'ahs for the Friday sunnah in all cases?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding the post-Friday sunnah, after mentioning the statement of the Shaykh al-Islam that it is performed as four rak'ahs in the mosque and two rak'ahs at home, what is the evidence for this specification?

Answer:
No, it is preferable to perform four rak'ahs in all cases. Some people cite as evidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs in his house, but there is no evidence indicating the abandonment of the four. It is preferable to perform four in all cases, even at home; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever is praying, let him pray four [rak'ahs] after it.من كان مصليًا فليصلي بعدها أربعًا
, and in another hadith:
When you have offered the Friday prayer, pray after it four rak'ahs.إذا صليتم الجمعة فصلوا بعدها أربعًا
Sunan Abi Dawud 1131Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is a general ruling that encompasses the house and the mosque. The fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed it as two rak'ahs in his house indicates that the command is relaxed and made easy, and praise be to Allah.
