Is it prescribed for the imam to wait for the prayer in the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Waiting for the prayer for the imam?

Answer:
He should seek the appropriate time so as not to burden the people.
Q: My intention is, I mean, the virtue of advancing?
The Shaykh: If he advances, there is nothing wrong with it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to come out at the time of the prayer, but if he sees that the benefit is in advancing, there is no obstacle. I do not know of any obstacle.
Q: But seeking this virtue?
The Shaykh: There is nothing wrong with it. Good is hoped for him.
Q: May Allah forgive you, is it authentic that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to come before the iqamah...?
The Shaykh: Nothing has reached me regarding this, but there is nothing wrong with it. The hadiths indicate that whoever advances to it is upon great good.
