Waiting for the Imam by One Who Enters the Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 6737 )
Q3: When the Imam is praying with a congregation and bows in the bowing of humility, and he hears a person coming to join the row, is it permissible for the Imam to wait and prolong the bowing so that the person can
join the prayer, or is it not permissible to wait for anyone?
A3: If the Imam’s waiting while bowing is brief for the latecomer to catch up, and it does not burden the congregation, it is permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
