A student's remarks on the ignorance of those affiliated with the Tabligh group.

The student : It is something strange, O Shaykh, meaning all the groups, glory be to Allah, it is now established that they have strayed from the correct path and the right guidance.

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.
The student : It is established that they have strayed... A man from the Tabligh group came to me in past years and said to me, "Come with us and see how we participate in the work." I said, "What work?" He said, "Calling to Allah." I said to him, "What are you calling to?" He said, "We call to the good word, *La ilaha illa Allah*." I said to him, "But this good word requires knowledge. Our Lord says: ; so are you among the people of knowledge who call with this?" He said, "My brother, this is what they say, meaning even Satan. We will sit until we learn and master all learning and become scholars, and then we will start the call." I said to him, "Who told you this talk that you sit in your house? Yes, sit in your house, seek knowledge, and at the same time act upon your knowledge, meaning work in your environment with this knowledge you have learned. And al-Bukhari, I said to him, 'Open the chapter: Knowledge before *La ilaha illa Allah* before speech and action. So you start with knowledge, then you call after knowledge.' So I said to him, 'What are the conditions of *La ilaha illa Allah*?' I was asking him, meaning a question."

The Shaykh : ... .
The student : He said to me, "I have not taken this." I said to him, "Learn it, my brother. Then he calls only to tawhid al-rububiyyah (oneness of lordship): no Lord but Allah, no Creator but Allah, meaning he calls to tawhid al-rububiyyah and knows nothing about tawhid al-uluhiyyah (oneness of worship). They know nothing about the oneness of worship. I ask one of them, "What is the meaning of *La ilaha illa Allah*?" He says, "No Creator but Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), no Provider but Allah."

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.
The student : Now this group has ended, meaning as you say, even now they have not done anything. They have been around for more than sixty, as the Shaykh said, I... sixty years. I said to him, eighty years.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student : They are Tabligh and the Ikhwan, likewise, about sixty years.

The Shaykh : More than sixty.
The student : More than sixty, they have not done anything.
Another student: The Ansaar al-Sunnah in 1926, and I think before them.
Another student: 1921... Okay, that is about seventy years, more than seventy-five years, and they have not done anything. Stay in your place.
