Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Hajjaj ibn al-Sha'ir narrated to me, and 'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, and Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say on the day of Uhud: "O Allah, if You will, no one will worship You on earth." أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول يوم أحد : اللهم، إنك إن تشأ لا تعبد في الأرض
.

The Shaykh : This is from seeking nearness to Allah through the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
if Thou wilt (defeat Muslims), there will be none on the earth to worship Thee إن تشأ لا تُعبد في الأرض
Sahih Muslim 1743
, and the victory of Allah for His Messenger and His Companions is a victory for the worship of Allah on earth. Had Allah willed that no one would worship Him, He would not have granted victory to the Muslims, and the disbelievers would have taken control of the Muslims, and no one would have worshipped on earth.
