The Book of Jihad, Expeditions, and Authority-04a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, my father narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us with this chain of narration, similar to it, and he did not mention it in the voluntary portion.

The Shaykh : This is regarding the distribution of war spoils, where one share is allocated to the infantryman, two shares to the horse, and one share to the rider. The distinction between them is clear because the rider can catch up with the enemy in ways the infantryman cannot, and because if the rider is deemed necessary for the public benefit to charge and retreat, he yields great benefit, unlike the infantryman.
