If one is able to bring about reform and join the parliament, should he do so?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man joined the parliament for the sake of reform?

The Shaykh : Good, may Allah reward him. This is what we say: one enters the parliament, and if Allah grants him knowledge and jurisprudence, he is able to respond to those atheists, and benefit is derived from him. No, not for the sake of position and status; no, he must enter with the intention of reform as much as he is able. There is no harm even if he does not have this intention, but he raises the status of the Muslims in their party, then there is no harm.
