The reciter: And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, and Ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us. And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, and Sufyan narrated to us from Abu al-Zubayr from Jabir, who said:
We did not pledge to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for death, but only that we would not flee. لَمْ نُبَايِعْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ، إِنَّمَا بَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نَفِرَّ
