Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, and Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us. And Muhammad ibn Rumh narrated to us, and al-Layth informed us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said:
We were one thousand and four hundred on the day of al-Hudaybiyyah, so we pledged allegiance to him, and 'Umar was holding his hand under the tree, which was a tamarisk, and he said: We pledged allegiance to him on the condition that we would not flee, and we did not pledge allegiance to him on the condition of death.
