The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted, in what he transmitted from the hadiths regarding patience, the hadith of Aisha and the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).
As for the hadith of Aisha, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed: : meaning a punishment that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, sent upon whom He willed of His servants. It was said that the plague is a specific epidemic, and it was said that it is any general epidemic that befalls the land, strikes its people, and causes people to die from it. Whether it is specific or any general epidemic, such as cholera and others, this plague is a scourge, a punishment sent by Allah, Mighty and Majestic, but it is a mercy for the believer if it descends upon his land and he remains in it, patient and seeking reward, knowing that nothing will befall him except what Allah has decreed for him. Then Allah the Exalted writes for him the reward of a martyr. For this reason, it came in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): : because advancing toward it is throwing oneself into destruction, And remember the story that Allah related to us: [Al-Baqarah 2:243] : to make it clear to them that there is no escape from the decree of Allah except to Allah. They went out of their homes, and they were thousands. Some scholars said in the interpretation of the verse: "A plague descended upon the land, so they went out of it. Then Allah said to them, 'Die,' and they died. Then He revived them so that it would be clear to them that there is no escape from Allah except to Him".
So in this hadith, the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) is evidence of the virtue of patience and seeking reward, and that if a person restrains himself in the land where the plague has descended, and then dies from it, Allah writes for him the reward of a martyr. This is because when the plague descends upon a person's land, life is precious to the person; he will flee and fear the plague. So if he is patient, remains, and seeks the reward, knowing that nothing will befall him except what Allah has decreed for him, and then dies from it, the reward of a martyr is written for him. And this is from the grace of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.

أننا إذا سمعنا بالطاعون في أرض فإننا لا نقدم عليهاBut if it befalls a land, we do not go out of it fleeing from it
ولكنه إذا وقع في أرض فإننا لا نخرج منها فراراً منهHave you not considered those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death? Allah said to them, "Die"; then He restored them to life.
So in this hadith, the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) is evidence of the virtue of patience and seeking reward, and that if a person restrains himself in the land where the plague has descended, and then dies from it, Allah writes for him the reward of a martyr.
