What is the ruling on eating the meat slaughtered by the people of innovation and misguidance, such as the Shi'ah in Azerbaijan?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A second question, Shaykh, regarding our situation there in Azerbaijan?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : It is known that the republic is an Islamic republic, but is there a fear regarding their slaughter? Is it permissible for us to eat from their slaughtered meat?

The Shaykh : Who do you mean, my brother?

The questioner : Azerbaijan.

The Shaykh : No, this is a general statement, and we do not answer about it. It is not about Azerbaijan. Who is the one who slaughters? Is he a Muslim or a disbeliever?

The questioner : I do not know.

The Shaykh : If you do not know! And you are a son of your country, do I know?!

The questioner : It is known there, meaning the butchers, meaning those who slaughter, for example, are Shi'ah. Is it permissible?

The Shaykh : If the one who slaughters is Shi'ah, then here comes my statement. I think you did not attend from the beginning?!

The questioner : No.

The Shaykh : Is it permissible to declare the Shi'ah disbelievers in a blanket manner? We say no. If you know of a Shi'ah that he says, for example, that this Qur'an in our hands is a quarter of the Qur'an and the rest is the lost and missing Mus'haf of Fatimah, then he is undoubtedly a disbeliever who has apostatized from his religion, because he denies what is known from the religion by necessity. But if you know of a Shi'ah that he permits mut'ah, which is forbidden as it came in the authentic hadith until the Day of Resurrection, but unfortunately, some of the Imams of the Sunnah used to say it is permissible, whether it is mut'ah of marriage or mut'ah of Hajj, and both have been prohibited authentically. Excuse me, regarding mut'ah of Hajj, the command for it came, and some of the Salaf prohibited it—look, my brother—whereas mut'ah of marriage, the Lawgiver prohibited it, but the prohibition did not reach some of the Imams, so they said it was permissible. Therefore, we do not declare the Shi'ah disbelievers in general because they permit mut'ah, and this permission is undoubtedly part of their misguidance. But the question now is: are they declared disbelievers for it or not? The answer is: no, except after the proof is established. In summary: if the Shi'ah among you declare something of explicit disbelief, then undoubtedly it is not permissible to eat their slaughter. Otherwise, it is permissible until the truth becomes clear to you.
