Principle: What causes harm by nature is to be killed by the Shari'ah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Among the scholars, there is a principle they state: "What causes harm by nature is to be killed by the Shari'ah". By "what causes harm by nature," they mean that if its nature is to cause harm, it is to be killed by the Shari'ah. However, if it does not cause harm by nature, but harm arises from it, you may kill it. But this latter case is restricted. For example, if ants in your house start digging and destroying the house, you may kill them, even though killing them is originally prohibited. But if they cause you harm, you may kill them. Likewise, for anything else that does not cause harm by nature but from which harm arises, kill it, provided that the harm cannot be repelled except by killing it.
