Question:
The hadith
Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every prayer, nothing stands between him and entering Paradise except death.من قرأ آية الكرسي بعد كل صلاة لم يحل بينه وبين دخول الجنة إلا الموت
?

Answer:
There is no harm in it. A hadith has been transmitted with various chains, some of which are good. It is recommended to recite Ayat al-Kursi after the prayer, following the dhikr. This is one of the causes of entering Paradise for one who dies without major sins. As for one who dies with major sins, he is exposed to the threat in any case. One who dies with some of the major sins is exposed to the threat. This is a restriction on the hadiths of virtues, such as what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The five [daily] prayers, Friday to Friday and Ramadan to Ramadan make atonement for what has happened since the previous one when major sins have been avoidedالصلوات الخمس، والجمعة إلى الجمعة، ورمضان إلى رمضان مكفرات لما بينهن ما لم تُغْشَ الكبائر
Mishkat al-Masabih 564
, and Allah says:
If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise].
[Al-Nisa: 31]. So the condition for the expiation of sins and entering Paradise is avoiding major sins. Therefore, it is obligatory to be cautious of sins and not to die while persisting in any of them. We ask Allah for well-being and safety for everyone.
