A Guiding Address to Students and Female Students on the Occasion of Examinations

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
On the occasion of the approaching first-term examinations, Your Eminence: Do you have a word for the students and female students?

Answer:
Yes. We advise everyone to fear Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), to pay attention to the lessons, to prepare fully, to study among themselves, and to review their reference books; so that they may benefit, and so that they may succeed, if Allah wills.
And we advise them to be cautious of cheating; for cheating is not permissible in all subjects—neither in the religious subjects nor in others. One must be cautious of cheating. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever cheats us is not one of us.من غشنا فليس منا
Sunan Ibn Majah 2225Da'if (Darussalam)
, so it is obligatory to be cautious. And because cheating leads to much evil, we advise all students to be cautious of cheating, and we advise them all to pay attention, to prepare, to study, to review the lessons, to review the books in which they will be tested, to study among themselves regarding what is difficult, and to ask the professors about what is difficult before the examination, so that when the examination comes, he will have prepared himself.
